Open the lyrics menu
With a song open, choose Settings → + LYRICS. From CHORDS, GTR switches to TIMELINE for editing. Saved phrases appear above the chords in CHORDS.

Automatic words and timings are approximate drafts
Detect Lyrics from Song recognises the recording. Paste & Time Lyrics preserves your supplied wording and matches it to recognised words. Both can miss phrases or suggest starts and ends that need adjustment. Review the result summary before Save, then listen and correct saved words or drag a region and its ends in TIMELINE. Unlocated lines need manual attention.
Time supplied lyrics manually
- Paste the whole song, with one sung phrase per line, then choose Time Manually.
- Press Play. Choose Next Line when the phrase starts, then End Line when it finishes. End Last Line completes the final phrase.
- Wait through musical gaps before marking the next phrase. Undo Last Mark corrects the latest mark.
- Edit Next Line pauses playback so you can change the upcoming words while keeping earlier timing marks.
- Review and Save when ready. Finish Timing ends the manual timing session; check the review before saving.
Keep existing lyrics, replace them, or cancel
Existing lyric regions are kept by default. Select Replace existing lyric regions when you want the new saved draft to replace them. Save applies one undoable change. Cancel leaves saved lyrics untouched. Use Edit Lyrics after saving to correct recognised wording.
Offline preparation and progress
The lyric model is included and works offline, including first use. Audio and lyrics stay on this device. First-time on-device preparation can take several minutes; repeat runs can be faster. Keep GTR open during analysis. The percentage reports audio processed, not accuracy or time remaining.
Read and practise
Read Full Lyrics opens a scrollable reader. CHORDS shows saved phrases above its two chord rows; wording continues onto the next row when a phrase crosses a row break. TIMELINE provides move and resize handles. The reading layout does not invent word-level timing.
